Four of us chartered a morning catamaran cruise through Peter, the Manager of the Spiridakos office in Oia, Santorini. We were picked up at our accommodation and driven to the marina to start the cruise. The catamaran was called Caldera 1, captained by Captain Heias.
The crew was terrific: Adda, Penos, Lester, and Islam. They made the trip a fun experience. It was so much more than we expected. Peter is very knowledgeable about the island and gave us great information about things to experience. Verified Reviewer

It was one of the best weeks of my life! This trip was a great way to explore the beautiful Greek Islands. Our Captain Kostas and hostess Manon were excellent. With their local knowledge, they helped tailor the trip to exactly what we wanted. Every day, we saw such beautiful places.
We sailed with dolphins, snorkeled over a sunken plane, and explored caves. Kostas ensured we always felt happy and safe, and Manon made the most amazing food. We were very well cared for by these guys; they went above and beyond for us, and we can’t thank them enough for showing us this beautiful part of the world. I would highly recommend it! I would have liked to say that Makis and Elias are very professional and caring, and they are good hosts as they are excellent crew members. But that would be lying. THEY ARE TRULY AMAZING SOULS. They had the best attention for us all the trip long. I proposed to my fiancee on their boat and would recommend that to ANYONE. We strolled around the best places on the Island, sailed around the volcano, and even stopped on White Island, where we went snorkeling. It was truly unique.
They knew the best places, and we saw no one else where we went. We also fished, of course. Makis is very skilled and patient. He taught us the fisherman’s way, and we got a Barracuda and a white tuna with their fishing ropes. We then grilled the barracuda and made ceviche out of it. While they were preparing this barbecue and other purely delicious dishes, we enjoyed a sunbath at the front of the ship. Regarding food, everything is traditional and local (everything comes from Makis’ farm and is made by Makis’ wife.) PLUS, IT’S FREAKING GOOD :D. (shout out to the fried tomato and meatballs. Yummy.)
They play the songs you like and go where you want to go. During five hours, you feel like you are the captain aboard. 🙂 Apart from that, they are just the typical great people we love: open-minded, caring as no one else, fun, and full of empathy. They made everything go smoothly so that my proposal will remain in our memories for the rest of our lives (at least !). It was worth every last dime. And more.
Thanks again, guys; you made us so happy. Yannis and Julie. Yannis_J

Planning Your Santorini Boat Tour
Once you’ve chosen a Santorini boat tour, there are a few things you’ll need to do to plan your trip:

Pack for the weather: Santorini can be hot and sunny in the summer, so be sure to pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
Bring a camera: You’ll want to capture all the fantastic views of the island.
Santorini Weather
Like the rest of Greece, Santorini enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers.
During the peak tourist season between June and September, the weather is typically sunny and hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). The summer months also have very little rainfall and up to 12 hours of sunshine per day.
The shoulder seasons of spring (April-May) and fall (October-November) are often considered the best times to visit Santorini. The weather during these times is typically mild and pleasant, with fewer tourists and more affordable prices.
Winters in Santorini (December-February) can be mild compared to many other European destinations, with temperatures ranging from 10-15 degrees Celsius (50-59 degrees Fahrenheit). However, it can also be rainy, particularly in December and January.
Santorini Forecast This Week
Always check the forecast before your trip, as the weather can vary from year to year. Regardless of when you visit, Santorini’s stunning scenery and charm remain constant throughout the year!
Embracing the Santorini Time
Ah, the Santorini time! Let’s take a moment to talk about it, shall we? There’s a unique pace of life on this Greek island. It’s a relaxed rhythm, a kind of languid ebb and flow that permeates everything, where every moment is savored, and nothing is ever rushed. This rhythm, this Santorini time, is not just about the clock’s ticking. It’s about a lifestyle, a way of life that prioritizes enjoyment and appreciation over the hustle and hurry.
Now, let’s talk specifics. Santorini operates on Eastern European Time (EET). During the daylight saving months, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, it’s Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+3). Outside those months, it’s two hours ahead of GMT (GMT+2). The sun rises early, and the daylight lingers long into the evening, meaning more time to explore, relax, and soak in the island’s beauty.
Time in Fira Santorini
Port of Santorini
The Port of Santorini, officially Athinios Port, is the primary seaport of the island. It is located on the western coast of Santorini, about 10 kilometers south of the capital city, Fira.
The port is busy during the tourist season, servicing multiple daily ferry connections to other islands in the Cyclades and Piraeus, the primary port of Athens. It’s also a popular stop for cruise ships touring the Mediterranean.
The port area is small, consisting of a docking area, a terminal building with amenities like cafes and car rental agencies, and parking areas. Due to Santorini’s unique topography, the port is at the bottom of a cliff, and access to the rest of the island is via a winding road.
Visitors often take buses, taxis, or rental cars to reach their hotels or other destinations on the island from the port. In addition, cable cars and donkeys are available for transportation between Fira and the old port, Skala Fira, which is used primarily for tour and excursion boats.
The Magic of 5 Day Greek Island Cruise
Imagine waking up on a new island daily, the sunlight playing on the water’s surface, the fresh sea breeze awakening your senses. That’s what you get with a 5-day Greek island cruise. The trip usually features a Santorini day cruise, a Mykonos cruise, and visits to other remarkable Greek islands.
